This qualification reflects work undertaken by individuals who build and install swimming pools and spas. The work covers a range of trade-related skills associated with in-ground and above-ground pools and spas, as well as planning and project management skills.

CONSTRUCTION OF POOLS INCLUDES;

– Earthworks and drainage for the construction of concrete swimming pools and spas.

– Place and fix reinforcement for the construction of concrete swimming pools and spas. – Construct formwork for concrete swimming pools and spas.

– Place and finish concrete or other materials to provide a shape or form for concrete swimming pools and spas.Ancillary pipework including general filtration, sanitation, water chemistry, solar heating and basic hydraulics for concrete swimming pools and spas.

– Landscaping works associated with the construction of concrete swimming pools and spas, including pool fencing and paving.

– Ceramic tiling, painting, coping and internal finishes associated with the construction of concrete swimming pools and spas.

– Prepare plans and specifications for concrete swimming pools and spas that are:

– for the licensee’s personal use, or

– for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally

– Maintenance and general repair of concrete swimming pools and spas.

– Install pool accessories, including, for example, pool heating systems.

– Incidental work of another class.

INSTALLATION OF SWIMMING POOLS INCLUDES;

– Earthworks and drainage for the installation of prefabricated and fibreglass swimming pools and spas.

– Install prefabricated and fibreglass swimming pools and spas.

– Ancillary pipework for prefabricated and fibreglass pools and spas including general filtration, sanitation, water chemistry, solar heating and basic hydraulics.

– Place and finish bedding sand or other suitable materials for prefabricated and fibreglass swimming pools and spas, including packing, filling and levelling.

– Place and fix formwork, reinforcement and concrete for the installation of prefabricated and fibreglass swimming pools and spas.

Landscaping works associated with the installation of prefabricated and fibreglass swimming pools and spas, including pool fencing and paving.

– Install coping and tiling associated with the installation of prefabricated and fibreglass swimming pools and spas.

– Prepare plans and specifications for prefabricated and fibreglass swimming pools and spas:

– for the licensee’s personal use, or – for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally.

– Maintenance and general repair of prefabricated and fibreglass swimming pools and spas.

– Install pool accessories, including, for example, pool heating systems.

– Incidental work of another class.

On successful completion you will be issued with a nationally recognised qualification and a record of results for CPC40820 Certificate IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Building.

There are a total of 18 units of competency including 8 core and 10 elective units.

This qualification is for tradespersons who construct or install swimming pools and spas in-ground and above ground as well as ancillary work to meet plans and specifications for a clients brief.

The course requires:

• Access to the internet
• A computer (with access to a camera and mic) or tablet, mobile device

Language and Literacy

In order to successfully complete this course, you need to have a certain level of language and literacy skills.

We recommend that you have at least level 3 skills for this course.

This qualification meets the training package requirements of all governing bodies, please check your state/territory for any additional evidence or requirement needs.
