Plumbing and drainage QLD

The plumbing and drainage course consists of 7 units from the CPC40912 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services (Operations stream) and the QBCC managerial course.  To obtain a QLD plumbing and drainage licence, QBCC have listed the required units in their technical qualifications document. Once you have successfully completed all 8 units, you will be able to apply to QBCC for a plumbing and drainage licence.

The units indicated in the QBCC technical qualifications document includes;

(A) Carry out work based risk control processes CPCPCM4011A

(B) Estimate and cost work CPCPCM4012A.

(C) Design and size sanitary drainage systems CPCPDR4011B.

(D) Design and size stormwater drainage systems CPCPRD4012B

(E) Design and size domestic treatment plant disposal systems CPCPDR4013B.

(F) Design and size sanitary plumbing systems CPCPSN4011B.

(G) Design and size heated and cold water services and systems CPCPWT4011B.

(H) Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business BSBSMB401

These units may be completed through the RPL process except for BSBSMB401 which is a one day course  or undertaken face to face, one on one or in a group.

Course costs

The cost for the course is $3194.00

At enrolment a deposit of $500.00 is required and the balance is payable in instalments on a payment plan. All fees must be paid prior to completion of the course and issuance of a statement of attainment.

Payment Plan

A payment plan is available for course costs over $1000.00. A deposit on courses over $1000.00 requires a $500.00 deposit, the balance is payable over fortnightly payments. Course fees under $1000.00 is to be paid in full prior to commencement or at enrolment. Also, see fees policy on page 6 of the student handbook. Concession

If you hold a current concession card or health care card, you may be eligible for a discount of $750.00 off the total cost of the course. Evidence of a current concession or health care card is to be provided.

What is provided?

Staysafe provides all of the resources required for you to successfully complete your course.

RPL duration

It is expected that RPL may take up to 90 days or 3 months to complete. To be considered for RPL, you must have 5+ years plumbing and drainage industry experience

Credit transfer

Credit transfer may occur when you have already completed one or more of the above units. Credit transfer is available if those units are equivalent to the above units. If they are not equivalent, further training may occur. See page, 9 and 10 of the student handbook.

Cancellation

A student is to notify the RTO if they want to change the date or cancel the booking within 24 hours of the booking date. Notice is to be sent via email or text. A call to cancel will not be acceptable. Where a deposit for a course has been paid, it will only be refunded less an administration fee of $100 if the cancellation is within the 24 hour notice period. Where cancellation of a booking occurs outside of the 24 hour period, the deposit will be non-refundable. Where Staysafe Industry Training cancels a short course, a full refund will be made. Refunds will be made to the students nominated bank account within 3 days of notification.
