Part 1A Passive Stream QBCC Occupational Licence Course

A new fire protection licence class has been introduced for fire doors and shutters, alongside existing licensing options and exemptions.
Carpenters and joiners can continue this work under their current licence, though nominee supervisors are limited to supervision. 
Until 1 May 2025, workers can perform newly regulated passive fire protection tasks (e.g., fire walls, fire collars, and fire-rated penetrations) under a licensed contractor.
Employees of a QBCC-licensed contractor may install and maintain fire doors or shutters without a licence if they hold a prescribed carpentry qualification.
Additionally, a new licence class for installing and maintaining fire collars, penetrations, and joint sealing has been introduced, with existing holders of the ‘fire collars, penetrations, and joint sealing’ class retaining their licence from 1 May 2021.
