CSQ Funding Criteria

CSQ Funding Eligibility – What You Need to Know
CSQ (Construction Skills Queensland) funding is designed to support workers in the building and construction industry.
StaySafe Industry Training is proud to offer CSQ-funded short courses in general construction.
Who is Eligible for CSQ Funding?
To be eligible, you must meet one of the following criteria:
Live and work permanently in Queensland
Be self-employed in the construction industry for more than 6 months
Be an eligible employee in the construction industry
Be unemployed for no more than 6 months, and previously employed in construction
Be working in an eligible construction-related industry
Apprentices who meet the eligible worker criteria are eligible for the short courses program only.
What You Must Do
After enrolling in a CSQ-funded course:
To assess a participant’s eligibility for the CSQ subsidy, all required documentation must be submitted to the
RTO prior to the commencement of training
You are not considered eligible until these tasks are completed and marked 100%
Do not start your course tasks before completing your CSQ eligibility tasks and mandatory enrolment tasks
If you begin without completing the CSQ steps, we won’t mark any course tasks until eligibility is confirmed
This is a strict CSQ requirement — eligibility must be confirmed before course commencement.
⚠️ Important Notes:
If your work history task is incomplete or your evidence is incorrect, we’ll contact you to help fix it
We will support you in confirming whether you are eligible or not eligible
If you're not eligible, we’ll notify you by calling, email or SMS, and your status will change to Fee for Service
Your invoice will also be updated to reflect the full course fee, minus any payments you've already made.
